Leere Orchestra

2021 (25'44"), three-channel video installation

<Leere Orchestra> is an essayistic 3 channel video work dedicated to the past, the present and an undetermined future of the artist and her milieu. The title < Leere Orchestra> is the artist's not entirely correct German translation of the word Karaoke (jap. カラオケ, "leeres Orchester"). In South Korean work and everyday culture, the karaoke bar is an important social place, which is why these are also frequented by overseas Koreans. The bars become the focal point of diasporic communities.
